Embracing Change Resources for Graduating Students


Mechanisms are in place to assist new recruits from Visible Minority backgrounds to find and develop rewarding and meaningful work in the federal public service.

Recruitment Programs

  • Finance Officer Recruitment Program
    The Financial Officer Recruitment and Development and Internal Auditor Recruitment and Development (FORD/IARD) Programs are administered by the Treasury Board Secretariat, Comptrollership Branch to recruit, train, and develop entry-level financial officers and internal auditors.
  • Manager Trainee Program
    An entry-level program aimed at recruiting and developing high-calibre individuals with vision and leadership skills. It can be used to recruit new Visible Minorities employees into the PSC; and to train & develop Visible Minorities already in the PSC.
  • The Career Assignment Program (CAP)
    A federal Public Service development program. The goal of CAP is to identify a representative group of individuals who have demonstrated executive potential and to accelerate their development and advancement.
  • Economist Recruitment Program
    The Accelerated Economist Training Program (AETP) offers high-calibre Master's degree candidates in Economics, Public Administration, or a related discipline the opportunity to work alongside Canada's top decision-makers on a number of social, economic and international policy agendas.
