Essential Skills Series in Evaluation
The Essential Skills Series (ESS) provides an overview of all facets of evaluation and a comprehensive introduction to a full range of evaluation terminology and basic techniques. The Series has recently been updated and includes reference to the new guide for Preparing and Using Results-based Management and Accountability Frameworks prepared by Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat in January 2005.
This session will be facilitated by Performance Management Network

Developing a Results-based Management Accountability Framework (RMAF) for Grants and Contributions - (F406)
Developed by the Canada School of Public Service in partnership with the CEE, this course will help you implement the Treasury Board policy on Transfer Payments, more specifically, the requirement that departments develop a Results-based Management and Accountability Framework (RMAF) as part of the approval of terms and conditions for grant or contribution programs. 

The RMAF is intended to serve as a blueprint to help you focus on measuring and reporting outcomes throughout the life cycle of a grant or contribution program.

Content:

  • orientation to RMAFs 
  • components of a RMAF 
  • building a logic model based on a description and profile of a grant or contribution program 
  • developing a performance measurement strategy and associated indicators 
  • taking a strategic approach to RMAFs

Typical participants:
Public Service employees involved in the delivery and administration of grant or contribution programs: departmental program managers and program officers; TBS policy and program analysts; internal auditors; evaluation and performance measurement specialists.
