Building the Future - Web-Based Search Tool on Employment Equity Positive Practices

A Bit of History!

In October 1998, a temporary Program called the Employment Equity Positive Measures Program (EEPMP) was established with the main objective to address employment equity issues in the Federal Public Service (FPS) with respect to the four designated groups: Women, Aboriginal Peoples, Persons with Disabilities and Visible Minorities.

Because the Program has now ended one of the final objectives of the EEPMP Group was to create this e-tool to keep providing continued assistance to departments and agencies with positive practices, lessons learned and other valuable information supporting the implementation of employment equity in the FPS. For each of the 167 funded projects you will find a summary and will be able to learn about the various tools and products developed through the Program. This web-based tool is EEPMP's long-term contribution to the ongoing and continuous efforts towards the integration of employment equity in the FPS.

This new electronic tool will enable you to access project information gathered over the four years of the EEPMP. It will provide for each of these initiatives listed, a summary of project specifics such as; project's principles, lessons learned, tools, recruitment strategies, policy development, training programs, guides and much, much more.

As this tool evolves, new information on future employment equity positive practices from supplemental sources (departments, agencies, etc.), will be added to the databank in order to create a more comprehensive and evergreen repository of EE positive practices and that can be shared by with all users.

If you feel that you have information that could be of use to others, we invite you to contribute our databank.

How to generate reports from the databank?

  • You can customize your own reports according to your needs and specifications.

  • You can customize your report criteria by choosing specifications relevant to your search and the system will generate a report for each of the projects matching your selection criteria.

Possible selection criteria are as follows:

Federal Institution (departments and/or agencies)

  • Designated Group
  • Theme
  • Province
  • or Keyword

  • You can also search your information by simply typing a keyword search and the electronic tool will generate a list of summary reports matching your search criteria.
