Scope
The working group will develop a Government of Canada type scheme, a governance structure and process to manage development of the scheme, guidelines on use of the type element (the GoC scheme and other type schemes) and a plan to implement the type element.
Deliverables
The following will be presented to the Interdepartmental GOL Metadata Working Group for approval/adoption:

A definition of the "type" element, as distinct from format, subject or other elements which may cause confusion among implementers;

A bilingual list of types for use by Canadian government departments and agencies to populate the "dc.type" element for web resources;

Guidelines on the obligation for use of the dc.type element, including the requirements for use of the GoC and other type schemes and implementation strategies for departments who have already begun using the dc.type element
