Featured Working Group: Web Services and Practices
The NISO Web Services and Practices working group was chartered in 2005 to develop a best practices document for using web services in library work. Web services are seen as an alternative to fully developed application programming interfaces (APIs) for circumstances in which the additional overhead is not warranted. The group has completed their work with the issuance of NISO RP 2006-01, Best Practices for Designing Web Services in the Library Context. Read the whole story.
