Management Accountability Framework (MAF) Reports on Plans and Priorities Departmental Performance Reports Canada's Performance Reports

Management Accountability Framework (MAF)

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has placed a high priority on management excellence over the past several years and has been actively engaged in Treasury Board Secretariat's Management Accountability Framework (MAF) since its inception in 2003.

The MAF is a tool used to measure departmental success in implementing modern management practices. It is a comprehensive and integrated model that brings together the principal elements of frameworks like those on Modern Comptrollership, Human Resources Modernization, Service Improvement Initiative and Government On-line. The MAF consists of 10 management elements that summarize expectations for departments in the area of modern management.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada 's commitment to MAF is described in AAFC's MAF Progress Report.

Additional information on MAF is available at the following address: http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/maf-crg/maf-crg_e.asp.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Reports on Plans and Priorities (RPP)

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada 's 2005-2006 Estimates: The Report on Plans and Priorities is an important instrument for the next three years. Its concise and credible information assists the Parliamentarians in meeting their decision-making responsibilities. This report illustrates long-term benefits that Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada aims to achieve for Canadians. In addition, the report demonstrates how the program activities and resources allocated to AAFC will contribute to the ultimate accomplishment of its three long-term strategic outcomes:

  1. Security of the Food System
  2. Health of the Environment
  3. Innovation for Growth

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada 's Report on Plans and Priorities is tabled annually to the House of Commons. The performance made towards these goals and objectives is reported by the Department to Parliament eighteen months after the Report on Plans and Priorities is tabled, through its annual Departmental Performance Report.
