6th Annual Information Management Conference

The Government of Canada (GC) Information Management (IM) community plans and delivers critical services that enable program delivery and service transformation for citizens, and support government transparency and accountability. The theme for the Government of Canada IM Conference 2006 is:

Hosted by Treasury Board Secretariat Information Management Strategies Division, this year we offer two (2) days to learn and share approaches to IM as a key underpinning of the business of the Government of Canada.

Monday's program will be similar to past IM Days. Morning plenary will feature keynote address by Jim Carroll, Leadership, Innovation and Trend Expert, 2006 Information Management Community Recognition and Agatha Bystram awards presentation, and a plenary presentation on Management of Government Information Policy renewal. Presentations and panel discussions will be available in the afternoon.

Tuesday will focus on interaction and idea sharing. Time to visit information booths showcasing MGI Policy Implementation Fund projects and other GC IM initiatives such as the Records and Document Information Management System and the IM Portal, will be interspersed with plenary and breakout sessions.

Breakout sessions on Monday and Tuesday will fall under three streams:

1. Transformative IM - Supporting the business of government
2. Embracing Trends and Opportunities - New approaches to IM
3. Beacons of Success - Learning from success

Who can attend?

This event is open to Government of Canada department, agency and crown corporation employees only.
