Call for Project Proposals
On January 23, 2004, the TBSAC Information Management
Subcommittee (TIMS) approved the creation of the Management of Government
Information (MGI) Policy Implementation Fund. The purpose of the fund is
to enable federal institutions to set up innovative projects and activities that
will ensure that effective management of government information holdings is a
priority in their organizations and that will contribute to the effective
implementation of the Management of Government Information Policy across
government. The fund, which is managed by the Information Management and
Policies Committee (IMPC), will extend over two fiscal years, 2004-2005 and
2005-2006.
IMPC recommended allocating these funds to projects in three
categories:
1) $1 million for small
organizations
2) $3 million for small and
medium‑sized projects
3) $2 million for large
projects.
A call letter was sent to departments on
April 29, 2004 inviting them to submit proposals to access the
$5 million in funding for categories 2 and 3.
Project proposals are to be prepared in accordance with the model that
accompanied the call letter and are to be sent to Jacques Richer, Government On‑Line
Initiative, Public Works and Government Services Canada at Richer.Jacques@tbs-sct.gc.ca
by June 9, 2004. Proposals will be reviewed and rated by expert
teams in accordance with the appended selection criteria.
Detailed information on the fund, the call letter and the selection criteria
can be accessed at: http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/im-gi/implement/mgi-gig_e.asp.
