The Canadian Adaptation and Rural Development (CARD) Fund

Initially started in 1995, the CARD program was the Government of Canada's initiative to foster the increased long-term growth, employment and competitiveness of Canada's agricultural and agri-food industry and agricultural rural areas. CARD supported change by providing measures to assist the sector in adapting to structural changes and to capture market opportunities.

Starting in 2004, the Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food (ACAAF) program was initiated as the successor to the CARD Fund. The ACAAF program continues CARD's innovative and cooperative approach to funding projects at the national, multi-regional and regional level identified and carried out by the sector. For more information on the ACAAF program, please visit the ACAAF site.

These pages describe some of the programs and projects that were supported by the CARD fund.
