Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA)
The ACA provides leadership in the preservation of Canada's Documentary Heritage, encourages awareness of archival activities and developments and the importance of archives to modern society and acts as an advocate for the interests and needs of professional archivists before government and other regulatory agencies.

Association for Public Sector Information Professionals (DPI)
The Association of Public Sector Information Professionals is a volunteer not for profit Canadian federal organization that promotes the effective application of information technology and information management in the Federal Government of Canada for the benefit of all Canadians.

Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) Canada
The Canadian Region of ARMA International is of interest to anyone in Records and Information Management and the related technological, legal and corporate need issues within the industry.

The CATAAlliance's mission is to stimulate global business growth through the forces of Canadian innovation and strategic partnership.

Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS)
Founded in 1958, the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) represents more than 8,000 Information Technology (IT) Professionals in 30 cities across Canada.

Canadian Library Association (CLA)
The Canadian Library Association provides an extensive array of services to a diverse group of individuals and organizations involved or interested in library or information sciences.

Canadian Network for Advancement of Research, Industry and Education (CANARIE)
CANARIE Inc., Canada's advanced Internet development organization, is a not-for-profit corporation supported by its members, project partners and the Federal Government. CANARIE's mission is to accelerate Canada's advanced Internet development and use by facilitating the widespread adoption of faster, more efficient networks and by enabling the next generation of advanced products, applications and services to run on them.

Council of Federal Libraries
The Council's purpose is to improve the utilization of federal library resources and facilities through coordination and sharing of resources; to advise the National Librarian on matters related to library services and access to information within the federal government; and to promote communication, cooperation and professional development among federal library staff.

Corporation of Professional Librarians of Quebec (CPLQ)
The mission of the CPLQ is to protect the public and promote the library profession by offering opportunities for learning, a code of ethics and active participation in the debates of the day.

e-Content Institute 
The e-Content Institute is an independent organization dedicated to advancing the interests of its members in the Canadian e-content community - developers and creators of e-content products and services and the professionals who buy, use and manage them.  The Institute provides a forum for education, innovation and an exchange of ideas thorough its publications, events, conference, networking sessions, briefings, reports and other Member-responsive services.

Information Resource Management Association of Canada (IRMAC)
IRMAC is a non-profit association of information management professionals. Its primary objective is to provide a forum for members to exchange information and experiences involving all aspects of data administration and information resource management.

Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC)
ITAC's mission is to identify and lead on issues that affect the Information Technology industry and to advocate initiatives, which will enable its continued growth and development.

Institute, The
A part of The E-Government Knowledge Centre (PWGSC), The Institute was created in 1992 to offer skills, expertise and professional development to the Computer Sciences functional community within the Government of Canada.

Institute of Public Administration of Canada, (IPAC)
The Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) is a Canadian organization concerned with the theory and practice of public management whose scope covers governance from the global to the local level.

Records Management Institute (RMI)
The RMI was founded in 1952 by a group of Records Managers in the Canadian federal government for the purpose of exchanging information and ideas.

Association for Federal Information Resources Management (AFFIRM)
AFFIRM is a Washington, DC-based council of the Federation of Government Information Processing Councils, and is a non-profit, volunteer, educational organization whose goal is to improve the management of information within the Federal Government. Founded in 1979, its members include IRM professionals from the Federal, academic, and private sectors.

Association for Information Management Professionals (ARMA)
ARMA International is a not-for-profit association serving more than 10,000 information management professionals in the United States, Canada, and over 30 other nations. Members include records and information managers, MIS and ADP professionals, imaging specialists, archivists, hospital administrators, legal administrators, librarians, and educators.

Association of Information and Dissemination Centers (ASIDIC)
ASIDIC's member organizations include database publishers, online vendors, corporate librarians, professional researchers and other users of information services. The Association's goal is to foster, encourage, and improve the development, production, processing, storage, retrieval, dissemination and use of electronic information.

Association for Information Management (ASLIB)
ASLIB is a charity whose 2000 members are private and public sector companies and organisations throughout the world concerned with managing information resources efficiently.

Center for Technology in Government (CTG)
The CTG is an applied research centre devoted to improving government and public services through policy, management, and technology innovation. Through its program of partnership, research, and innovation, the Center provides government organizations and individuals with an array of tools and resources designed to support the development of a digital government.

International Association for Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM)
IHRIM is a professional organization dedicated to enabling members to achieve their objectives through the management of human resource information with technology. Check the website for information on various Canadian chapters.

International Council on Archives (ICA)
ICA is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting the preservation, development, and use of the world's archival heritage. It brings together national archive administrations, professional associations of archivists, regional and local archives and archives of other organisations as well as individual archivists. ICA works closely with inter-governmental organisations such as UNESCO and the Council of Europe. It also has strong links with other non-governmental organisations.

IDEAlliance is a non-for-profit membership organization. Its mission is to advance user-driven, cross-industry solutions for all publishing and content-related processes by developing standards, fostering business alliances, and identifying best practices.

International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA)
IFLA is an independent, international, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization. IFLA's aims are to promote high standards of provision and delivery of library and information services, encourage widespread understanding of the value of good library and information services, and represent the interests of IFLA members throughout the world.

IWA is a non-profit professional association providing educational and certification standards for Web professionals. Information about Canadian chapters is available for British Columbia, Ottawa, and Toronto.

Special Libraries Association (SLA)
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the SLA is the international association representing the interests of thousands of information professionals in over seventy countries. Special librarians are information resource experts who collect, analyze, evaluate, package, and disseminate information to facilitate accurate decision-making in corporate, academic, and government settings.
