Offers financial assistance to Band Councils and Band members to repair substandard homes to a minimum level of health and safety and to improve the accessibility of housing for disabled persons. The financial assistance is in the form of a forgivable loan. The total forgivable loan depends on the cost of the repairs and area of the country. Delivery of this program is coordinated with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada. After March 31, 2007, approximately one half of the current budget will expire.

Provide renovation assistance to low income households in First Nation communities to address health and safety issues and extend the useful life of the unit for 15 years.
