Urban Native Housing Program and Rural and Native Housing Program
(Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation)

Offers provinces and territories the opportunity to take over the management of the existing off-reserve federal social housing portfolio in order to clarify roles and responsibilities in housing. Program relates to payments made to provinces and territories under existing Social Housing Agreements (SHA). SHAs expire in the 2030's. CMHC monitors compliance with the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Social Housing Agreements through an annual review of audited financial statements and unaudited performance reports.
