The Bank of Canada Releases the December Issue of the Financial System Review

OTTAWA—The December issue of the Financial System Review (FSR) will be released on Thursday, 7 December 2006 at 09:00 (EST).

This issue features the following articles:

  • "The "Maple Bond" Market"
  • "An Update on the Funding Status of Defined-Benefit Pension Plans in Canada"
  • "Results of the FSR Readership Survey"
  • "Collateral Valuation for Extreme Market Events"
  • "Are Canadian Banks Efficient? A Canada-U.S. Comparison"
  • "Credit in a Tiered Payments System"
  • "Using No-Arbitrage Models to Predict Exchange Rates"

At 09:00 (EST) on Thursday, 7 December 2006, the FSR will be available:

  • on the Bank's website
  • at the Parliamentary Press Gallery (Room 350-N, Centre Block, and Room 607, Wellington Building)
  • at the Bank's regional offices in Halifax, Montréal, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver
