Canada Day 2006 at the Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada

To celebrate Canada Day 2006, the Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada invites you to participate in a day of entertainment on Saturday, 1 July.

A new, temporary exhibit, to open in June and called “Voices of the Baobab,” will offer the perfect setting for the day’s activities. Visitors will be able to admire a small collection of African objects traditionally offered to brides as dowry.

Two temporary-tattoo sessions are planned: the first from 10 a.m. to noon, and the other from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Young and old can have their faces adorned with fun designs, courtesy of our Interpreter-Guides.

During the Canada Day weekend, pick up your Beavers in the City passports at one of the participating cultural institutions and discover little-known information about the architecture of their buildings. On the way, play games, enjoy guided tours, and enter contests!
