Looking for curriculum-based lesson plan ideas about money or the Bank of Canada? The following resource is designed for use in the classroom. It can be used on its own or as preparation for a visit to the Currency Museum. Be sure to keep checking back here as we will be adding additional resources in the months to come.

What Is Money? Grades 4 to 6
This kit features images of objects used as currency throughout Canada's history. The kit is designed to introduce students to the idea that money is whatever people agree to use as a medium of exchange. By looking at the money used by different civilizations we can better understand the money we use today.
Learning Objectives
Students will be able to name a few different types of currencies used in Canada in the past.
Students will be able to list 3-4 characteristics of money.
