Quality

Purpose
This document states AECL’s policy for quality and expresses AECL’s commitment to the quality of all its products, services and business activities.

This policy takes precedence over those parts of any previous AECL policy or procedure that is in conflict with provisions of this policy.

Policy
We are committed to developing, marketing, supplying and servicing competitive quality products that provide value to our customers.

We apply appropriate quality management systems, principles and practices in performing all our business activities and in fulfilling our responsibilities to our customers, our regulators, our stakeholders and the public.

We are committed to conduct all our operations in a safe and responsible manner under a well-established quality program.

We are all responsible for quality and assure its delivery through leadership, planning, continuous learning and improvement, open communication, teamwork, co-operation and mutually beneficial partnership.

We establish clear lines of responsibility, authority and accountability for all work.

As a learning organization, we continually manage and improve our business processes on the basis of factual information, measurement and feedback.

Effective Date
This policy is authorised by the AECL Board of Directors and becomes effective on 2006 April 21.
