Embalse Refurbishment Project, Argentina

Embalse

Nucleoelectrica Argentina Sociedad Anonima (NASA) – the Argentine Utility owner and operator of the Embalse CANDU Nuclear Power Plant - has the firm intention of refurbishing and, thereby, extending the design service life of the Embalse Nuclear Power Plant beyond 2030.

Refurbishment Pre-project work has already started and is being executed jointly by AECL and NASA. This Pre-project work, scheduled to be completed in early 2007, will enable NASA to finalize their decision in 2007 to refurbish and extend the design service life of the Embalse Nuclear Power Plant.
