May 20, 2004 — The U.S Department of Energy (DOE) and the Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and (in support of NRCan) Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), under the bilateral International Nuclear Energy Research Initiative (I-NERI) Agreement, signed on June 17, 2003, agreed to collaborate on seven projects totaling approximately $20 million.
 

The projects range in duration from two to four years. These will be the first projects under this bilateral collaboration.
