Interest in the Canadian Forces

Cadets are not members of the military, but learn skills that stimulate an interest in the sea, land and air activities of the Canadian Forces. Specifically, cadets learn about the history of the Canadian Forces, the contribution it makes as a national institution as well as its contribution to the wider world. Moreover, cadets learn skills that are inherent within the Canadian Forces, such as self-discipline, teamwork and good citizenship. Cadets are also offered opportunities to practice leadership, all of which helps to build individual self-assurance, esteem and a healthy self-image.
