The Investigative Team learns how to distinguish real notes from counterfeit ones. The team will examine a $20 counterfeit note on loan from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. They will have to check the security features on the note, discover why it is a counterfeit, and write a report.

Specific Learning Expectations
Members of the Investigative Team will:

Identify key security features on the current note series

Recognize and describe some of the differences between a counterfeit and a real note

Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the RCMP in investigating and tracking counterfeits
