How do I find out which journals are being reviewed for OSHLINE?
The OSHLINE list of journals is available on CCOHS' website and is periodically updated as new journals are identified and others cease publication or change name. Suggestions for journal titles to index may be forwarded to the OSHLINE Project Leader, Flora Simpson, at floras@ccohs.ca.
How do you decide which documents to include in OSHLINE?
Selection of documents for OSHLINE is derived from the criteria policy used for the NIOSHTIC database. The general selection principles are as follows:
- materials must be relevant to occupational health and safety;
- articles should be from peer-reviewed/similar journals representing the subject coverage of occupational health and safety;
- materials should be English-language or translated into English;
- materials should have a practical applicability to OH&S; (i.e. they should report on research, studies, surveys, methodologies as opposed to fundamental research);
- not included are: opinions(editorials), promotional articles, equipment descriptions, statistical reports which do not offer conclusions, aquatic, plant & invertebrate toxicology unless related to worker exposure, data sheets; items without permanent value;
