Retailers

Retailers are the first line of defence in the fight against counterfeiting. By knowing how to quickly and reliably identify genuine bank notes, they help keep counterfeits out of circulation. The Bank of Canada educates retailers and conducts retail-related research and maintains active partnerships with retail and business organizations.

Education and training

The Bank of Canada offers retailers various counterfeiting-prevention educational materials, including posters and leaflets, videos, and training CDs. Order/download educational materials.

Trainer's Tool Kit

The Trainer's Tool Kit provides loss-prevention and training personnel with a comprehensive tool kit that can be used to familiarize cash handlers with bank note security features and effective for authenticating genuine versus bogus bank notes. More information.
