CCSA's Information and Reference (I&R) Service is one of the oldest addiction information services in Canada. Previously known as the National Clearinghouse on Substance Abuse, the service has been in operation since 1990. The role of CCSA's Information and Reference Service is twofold: to develop information products and to provide information services to the Canadian addictions community. One of the service's oldest products is the library collection, which houses many unique Canadian addiction resources and documents. With more than 11,000 items, it serves as an archive for Canada's addictions community.
