Public Affairs

The role of Public Affairs (PA) is to promote understanding and awareness among Canadians of the role, mandate and activities of the Canadian Cadet Movement (CCM), and of the contributions that the CCM makes to Canadian society.

Canadians deserve to know what the CCM is about. Public support for the CCM follows from public understanding of how those involved in CCM benefit and how the cadets make a difference at home and abroad. Public confidence and support, in turn, is enhanced by the ability of the CCM to achieve its mandate in a manner that is open, transparent, and consistent with Canadian values and expectations.

Target Audiences. Within Atlantic Region there are different groups toward which specific PA effort is to be made. In particular they are as follows:

  1. the general public;
  2. educators and students;
  3. government officials and key staff at the provincial and municipal level;
  4. parents of Cadets; and
  5. potential cadet recruits.

It is important to always keep your audience in mind when you are planning media events. Your event must address the needs of your audience.
