FTSS FAQs

The FTSS database contains over 55 000 supplier Material Safety Data Sheets - in French. Material safety data sheets in English are available in the MSDS database which is part of the MSDS plus CHEMINFO collection.

The MSDS/FTSS databases are available for mounting on your own internal Intranet, see MSDS/FTSS Intranet Service.

For answers to questions on each database, refer to the FAQs for:

Can I search across both databases by CAS number?

Yes. If the MSDS product itself has a CAS number, in most cases, this will be found in the identification fields and can be retrieved by searching MSDS plus CHEMINFO. For example, a simple search of MSDS plus CHEMINFO for CAS Number 50-00-0 will result in one record in CHEMINFO and three records in MSDS. Click the database tab to view the records.

Can I search across both databases by Trade Name?

Yes. If the CHEMINFO record includes a chemical trade name this will be found in the identification fields and can be retrieved by searching MSDS plus CHEMINFO. For example, a simple search of MSDS plus CHEMINFO for Clorox will result in one record in CHEMINFO and one record in MSDS. Click the database tab to view the records.
