The Nobel Prize is the Big Mac of awards presented to scientists every year. In 1994, Professor Bertram Neville Brockhouse, a physicist from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, shared the prize for developing new ways to scatter neutrons. His techniques made it easier for physicists to study condensed matter, both liquids and solids.
