Bell Helicopter sells more airships through CCC
Bell Helicopter and the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) have worked
together for over 15 years to facilitate the sale of more than 50 helicopters
worth almost $500 million worldwide. The latest contract was signed on
May 4, 2004 , in Mirabel , Quebec , where Bell ’s assembly facility
for its entire fleet of commercial helicopters is located. Jacques St-Laurent,
President of Bell Helicopter Textron Canada Limited, and CCC President
Hugh O’Donnell signed the U.S.$23 million contract for the delivery
of two helicopters.
Bell ’s Roy Macrae, Director, Canadian International Business,
says the company values working with CCC because of the transparency
and profile that goes with having the Government of Canada at the table
in deals with foreign governments.
When CCC acts as Prime Contractor, foreign buyers receive a Government-backed
guarantee of contract performance. CCC opens foreign markets for Canadian
exports and provides specialized contracting services. Through its government-to-government
contracting role, CCC helps Canadian exporters sell into public sector
markets in more than 30 countries each year.
