The Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse library has been in operation since 1992, and now houses over 11,000 documents. Selection criteria for the collection focuses on Canadian addiction information, notably illicit drugs, licit drugs, alcohol, gambling. International addiction publications are also included in the collection where subjects such as epidemiology, evaluation, and best practices are discussed. While all types of publications are selected, emphasis is placed on "grey literature" or other documents not typically indexed in the major commercial databases such as Medline, and Social SciSearch. |
