Cadet Clothing Project
National Defence has recently authorized funding
for the Cadet Clothing Project. This project will benefit directly Sea,
Army and Air Cadets at all units across the country in provided them with
better clothing.
Multi-season jacket to replace all-weather gabardine
coat
- New all-season jacket is a ¾ length jacket,
- Designed to fit over the current cadet tunic
- Has a zip in/out fleece liner that can be worn separately or with
the outer shell
- Wind and water-resistant
- Outer shell may also be worn separately as a wind/rain jacket
- Both the liner and the outershell have epaulets and a velcro patch
for unit identifier badges
- Expected start of delivery: September 2002.
Physical training clothing to become part of basic
issue
- All cadets to be issued one pair of cross trainer running shoes, one
wide brimmed hat, one athletic T-shirt and one pair of athletic shorts.
In the past only cadets attending summer training were issued physical
training clothing
- Initial delivery of these items to Cadets will commence in February
of 2002
- Cadets attending Cadet Summer Training Centres (CSTCs) will receive
an extra pair of athletic shorts and one extra athletic T-shirt at the
CSTC
- Cadets must bring their issued shorts, t-shirt, hats and cross
trainer running shoes with them to summer training.
