N.A.A.W., or National Addictions Awareness Week, is a time to celebrate the joy of an addictions free lifestyle. It is a time to honour each other.

You can take part by organizing a community activity during National Addictions Awareness Week.

Hold a sober dance, honour outstanding community members or just have a fun feast. Join hands and form a circle - Keep the Circle Strong!!

The NAAW Ribbon was developed to raise awareness of addictions.
The different sizes of the ribbon represents the many forms of addictions.
The different colors symbolize that addictions do not discriminate and affect all races, genders and ages.

NAAW 2006 SOBER, CLEAN AND CLEAR WALK IN EDMONTON

National Addictions Awareness Week (November 19-25, 2006) is a time to make a difference together.  Our whole Edmonton and area community is invited to work together to prevent alcohol, tobacco, other drug and gambling problems.

A number of events are scheduled for the week.  Clicking on the following picture is the poster advertising the Monday November 20th event in downtown Edmonton over the lunch hour.

You can help others be more aware of how to prevent addictions in their families and communities.  You can also help others be more aware of the range of services available to help those with alcohol, tobacco, other drug and gambling issues.

Spread the word about the lunch time Sober, Clean and Clear Walk which starts at Commerce Place (10155 - 102 St) and join me and many others at the walk.  Displays will be set up all day in Commerce Place for browsing as well.

Why come on the walk?

  • to become more informed about addictions
  • to encourage your own journey of recovery
  • to show you care for those in our community

Join us for all or part of the event as you are able; no prior registration is needed.
