Background
The Eric Single* Addiction Studentship Award is a partnership between the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre, the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA) and the CIHR Institute of Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction. The award has been created to:
- Provide support for research to study the overlap between problem gambling and alcohol or other drug problems
- Provide recognition and funding to students early in their academic research career, providing them with an opportunity to gain research experience
- Provide a reliable supply of highly skilled and qualified researchers in the addictions field
Award Amount
The Eric Single Addiction Studentship Award is valued at $20,000 a year plus a $1,000 research allowance for a maximum of three years.
Eligibility
Only those students registered as a full time PhD student at a Canadian University are eligible for support. Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada at the time of application.
Application process
Applications should include a proposed study, Curriculum Vitae, two letters of academic recommendation, and certified copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
