Director of Mediation

Responsibilities

The Director, Mediation is responsible for managing the mediation program; chairing complex mediation cases; providing expert advice; producing formal and ad hoc reports on the outcome of mediations.

Qualifications

  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized university; legal education desirable
  • Experience in mediation or in negotiation, or alternative forms of dispute resolution or cross-cultural dispute resolution
  • Experience in managing human and financial resources
  • Experience with aboriginal or treaty rights/land claims
  • Excellent written, organizational, communications and computer skills required

Requirements

  • Language: English essential, bilingual desirable
  • Open to residents of Canada. Preference will be given to Aboriginal people who are members of a First Nation
  • Location of work: Ottawa
  • Availability to travel extensively across Canada, including remote sites

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
