Year of the Veteran Lapel PinVeterans Affairs Canada has produced a pin in honour of the Year of the Veteran. Cadets are authorized to wear the pin on their uniform starting immediately until June 2006. The pin will be worn at the location authorized, where applicable, for the wear of corps/squadron anniversary pins; centred on the right breast pocket flap. If an anniversary pin is already authorized to be worn then both pins will be centred at one centimetre apart with the veteran pin towards the center of the jacket. The pin is a stylized maple leaf overlaid with a red-enamelled poppy engraved with the year 2005. The purpose is to promote an understanding of the significance of the Year of the Veteran and of the sacrifice of all Canadian Veterans. Through the efforts of the Air Cadet League, on behalf of the three leagues, enough pins are being obtained for all Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers. Pins will be distributed to cadet corps and squadrons. |
