Purolator Overnight is a domestic service provided by Canada Post on behalf of Purolator Courier Ltd. It allows customers to buy PuroLetter or PuroPak prepaid labels at a postal counter. Canada Post provides PuroLetter and PuroPak convenience packaging which must be used in conjunction with PuroLetter and PuroPak prepaid labels.
Regional Prepaid Label – For use within a region of Canada
National Prepaid Label – For use between two regions of Canada.
Canada Post will accept Purolator Overnight items that meet the size and weight specifications for this service, are properly prepared and are not prohibited mail or a dangerous good.
PuroLetter envelopes are to be used for document shipments only.
The regions of Canada for domestic Purolator are:

Unacceptable Items
Is considered unacceptable as Purolator Overnight any item:
that contains cash, currency (coins/paper) or cremated remains
is addressed to a post office box, general delivery or a rural route
is improperly or insecurely packed or wrapped
contains goods which on their own or when combined may be harmful to life, property or the environment.
Shipments must not contain any dangerous substance or article prohibited by law or defined as a dangerous good, as defined in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations. For other unacceptable items, Go to Section B Chapter 7, Non-mailable Matter.

Payment Options
Purolator Overnight labels are considered proof of payment. The following methods of payment are acceptable. Some restrictions and conditions may apply.
Guaranteed noon next day delivery between urban centres within Canada. Use the following tables to determine whether noon next day service is available.

On-time Guarantee is applicable to the published noon next day service only. Purolator refunds or credits the transportation charges, upon request, if the customer’s shipment is not delivered on time, as measured against the published guaranteed service standards for Purolator Overnight, and provided the Purolator conditions are met.
Electronic Track & Trace
The status of the item is available by calling Purolator Customer Service at 1 888 744-7123 or via the Purolator website at www.purolator.com.
Delivery Confirmation/Proof of Delivery (POD)
A confirmation of delivery is available the next business day following delivery by calling Purolator Customer Service at 1 888 744-7123 or via the Purolator website at www.purolator.com.
Coverage for loss or damage
Purolator Overnight includes $100 of coverage for loss or damage of items during transit. No additional coverage is available.
NOTE:
If there is no declared value for coverage indicated in the appropriate box on the Bill of Lading, the liability will be limited to $4.41 per kg.
Signature
A signature is secured upon delivery of the item, free of charge.
Options
Service options such as 9 AM, 10:30 AM, Saturday Delivery, or Additional coverage for loss or damage, are not available at this time.
Labels and Documentation Required
Every Purolator Overnight item must be accompanied by a correctly completed Purolator Overnight Bill of Lading indicating:
the address of the addressee and the return address of the sender
the type of item: document or non-document, and the category: PuroPak or PuroLetter
the weight of the shipment
the covered value of the shipment in Canadian dollars. (The covered value must not exceed the declared value)
the sender’s signature and deposit date
the number of items (one item only per Bill of Lading)
in the Third-Party Billing Name and Address box: CPC RETAIL DOMESTIC.
Packaging
Items must be securely wrapped with sufficient cushioning and reinforcing material to prevent loss or damage of the contents, damage to postal equipment or to other items, and injury to postal staff. Items must fit in a sealed PuroLetter or PuroPak envelope.
Addressing
The address information on the Purolator Overnight Bill of Lading must be complete, and contain the following information:
sender’s name, full street address, city, province and postal code
sender’s contact name and valid telephone number
addressee’s name, full street address, city, province and postal code
addressee’s contact name and valid telephone number.
NOTE:
If the delivery address or telephone number are incorrect, incomplete or not provided, the service guarantee will not apply.
Purolator Overnight items cannot be addressed to a rural route, general delivery or to a post office box. Go to Section B – Chapter 3, Addressing.
Deposit of Purolator Overnight
Purolator Overnight items must be deposited at a postal outlet during normal business hours. For the purposes of the service guarantee, items deposited after cut-off hours will be considered as being deposited on the next business day. Cut-off hours are specific to each accepting outlet.
NOTE:
Purolator Overnight items must not be deposited in street letter boxes, parcel receptacles or other such mail receptacles. The service guarantee does not apply to Purolator Overnight items deposited in such receptacles.
