CWB announces final payments for 2004-05 crop year

December 1, 2005

Winnipeg -- The Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) will send farmers final payments for the wheat, durum wheat, feed and designated barley they delivered to the CWB during the 2004-05 crop year over the next week. These final payments represent the balance of the money owing to farmers after their grain has been marketed through the CWB, and after operating costs have been deducted.

This is the fifth year the CWB has issued final payments before mid-December. The earlier issue date was established to respond to farmers' cash flow needs. Direct deposit payments will be credited to farmers' accounts on December 6. Final payment cheques will be dated December 6 and mailed December 9.

Final payments, in dollars per tonne, for the base grades in each pool account are listed below. The total payment is based on the value of grain in store at Vancouver or the St. Lawrence.
