Our Community Investments

Agriculture lives here

Organizations have an obligation to give back to the communities where they operate — the communities their customers and employees call home. We’re honoured to do this.

As a member of the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy's Imagine program, FCC gives one per cent of its profits to charitable and not-for-profit community organizations, through the donation of financial resources and in-kind services. This reflects our fervent belief that corporations have an obligation to give back to the communities in which they operate.

Our community investment activities are closely aligned with agriculture, focusing on farm safety, 4-H and hunger related issues. Farmers often work around large animals and operate heavy equipment, facing real hazards. FCC takes an active role in building awareness and providing education in the area of farm safety. In terms of hunger, related issues, farmers and agribusiness operators are responsible for producing high-quality safe food. At FCC, we work with them to bring food to those in need. To learn more about what FCC is doing in its communities, visit our Announcements and Events.

Farm Credit Canada is also committed to supporting tomorrow's agricultural leaders through the FCC 4-H scholarship. Each year we ask 4-H youth interested in post-secondary studies to submit a project plan that addresses a safety or hunger related issue in their community. Scholarships are awarded based on the best entry from each of FCC's five regions. To learn more about FCC and 4-H click here.

FCC employees have a passion for their communities and dedicate thousands of volunteer hours to charities across Canada. When an employee donates a minimum of 20 hours, they are eligible to enter to win a $500 grant for their charity. To learn more about what FCC staff are doing in their communities visit our Announcements and Events.
