Target price for BPC
The target price service enables producers to place orders with the CWB on the target value at which they want to lock in their futures price. The CWB monitors daily values on the producer's behalf. The service is free and orders can be cancelled at anytime before being filled.
Target price order for futures price component of basis payment contract
This is a price service for unpriced basis contract holders. Starting February 27, 2006, producers can call the Business Centre at 1-800-275-4292 (7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday) and place orders or fax (24 hours a day) a form available on this Web site or through Fax on Demand.
The CWB will monitor futures prices daily on your behalf and complete the lock-in when the target price is reached or exceeded. You can place, revise or cancel orders between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day through the Business Centre at 1-800-275-4292.
To place a target price order for the futures price on your BPC, you must specify the following:
- a target price;
- tonnage (entire or partial lock-ins of at least 20 tonnes); and
- time duration to let order stand (30 days, 60 days, or until Basis Contract Month Expiry).
When an order is filled you will be sent a Statement of Information and a personalized letter indicating the action taken on your pricing contract.
