Colloquium on Global Diversity: Creating a Level Playing Field for Women
Global Summit of Women On February 23 and 24, 2006, Chief Commissioner Mary Gusella was pleased to participate in the 2006 Colloquium on Global Diversity: Creating a Level Playing Field for Women, at the Harvard Club in New York. This year’s discussions focused on work/family balance and mentoring programs. After opening the deliberations with a presentation on mentoring innovations, Mrs. Gusella moderated a panel discussion with senior executives from Cargill, JP Morgan Chase and PricewaterhouseCoopers in the United States and Walmart Mexico. The Colloquium is a by-product of the 16 year-old Global Summit of Women, the premier gathering of business, professional and entrepreneurial women worldwide which brought together 925 women from 75 countries last year to discuss how to accelerate women’s economic progress globally. The Colloquium brings together a small but select group of senior executives and government officials from various countries charged with human resource and diversity practices. It is one of the few gatherings that focuses on best practices in gender equity in the workplace within a global context. Recommendations from the Colloquium are shared at the Summit each year. Information on the Colloquium and the Summit can be accessed at www.globewomen.com.
