Terminal Inventory Analyst

Reporting to the Supervisor, Logistics Accounting, the successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of the CWB Terminal Inventory systems and related financial processing. Key responsibilities include:
- Reconciling and balancing Terminal Inventory Stocks at eastern transfer elevator position on a daily basis, as well as verifying and issuing monthly storage payments.
- Analyzing and following up on un-reconciled inventory items.
- Assisting with year-end working papers and variance analysis on assigned general ledger accounts, as well as providing backup and explanation to external auditors when required.
- Communicating with eastern transfer elevators, Canadian Grain Commission and CWB staff in order to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the CWB terminal inventory records.
- Providing backup for other staff in the department as required.
Completion of accounting courses towards the 2nd level of CMA/CGA program or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Knowledge of inventory processes and procedures would be considered an asset. Excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications are essential. Knowledge of the Oracle Financials system and grain industry experience would be a definite asset.
