Bank of Canada Statement on the Nomination of Dr. Ben S. Bernanke as Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board of the United States

OTTAWA—The Bank of Canada has been honoured to work with Chairman Alan Greenspan for the past 18 years, and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.

We welcome the nomination of Dr. Ben S. Bernanke as the new Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board of the United States. The Bank of Canada has worked closely with Dr. Bernanke in his capacity as a professor at Princeton University and as a member of the Federal Reserve Board.
