Farm Credit Canada - FCC AgriSpirit Fund Eligibility Guidelines

This year, the FCC AgriSpirit Fund will offer $500,000 to fund rural capital projects. Funding ranges between $5,000 and $25,000 per project.

What qualifies?

For your project to be considered for funding, it must:

enhance the quality of life for people who live in rural communities
be a capital project (equipment, building funds, etc.)
be completed by March 2008
be registered through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or
be an agricultural society or
be partnered with a municipal government who agrees to receive the money contributed, control the expenditures and issue official tax receipts in the municipality’s name
be located in rural Canada with a population less than 100,000 people
allow FCC to put up a permanent sign

Farm Credit Canada prefers to partner with organizations that:

FCC will not support the following activities:

projects outside of Canada
projects that received support from the FCC AgriSpirit Fund in the past 12 months
operating budgets or debt reduction campaigns
private foundations or third parties raising funds for a charity e.g. Lion’s Club, Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, etc.
organizations that receive funding through the United Way
individual endeavors
religious organizations (except where they represent non-denominational community and social support services)
private schools
organizations whose primary focus is advocating a particular religious, social, moral, political or economic point of view
ticket purchases for fundraising activities

Additional information

Preference may be given to organizations that have a focus on agriculture.
FCC wants to enhance communities across the country. If other projects in your area received AgriSpirit funding in the past 12 months, this factor will be considered in the final evaluation.
FCC employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to complete the application for AgriSpirit funding.
Only online applications will be evaluated.
