The Top Menu
Along the top of your screen you see a three rows of black and red
buttons. This is called the Top Navigation Menu. These buttons do
not change from page to page, and contain links to both pages in our
website and pages in other Government of Canada websites.
Below is a description of all of the top navigation menu's buttons:
The Side Menu
Along the left hand side of your screen you will see a blue panel
with buttons on it. This is called the side menu. This menu changes
from page to page, and shows links which are related to the current
information. The links on this menu go to pages within our website,
other Government of Canada websites and other privately run websites.
Below is an example of a side menu. It is taken from the introduction
page.
The Site Map
The Site Map is a listing of all
of the pages contained in the Prairie Region Cadet website. It is
sorted by category so you can find what you're looking for the easiest.
If you aren't sure what page to look at, try using our Search
Page to search for the information you are looking for.
The Search Page
The Search Page is a tool
you can use to search for a word of phrase. You can search by region,
search the national site or search a number of Government of Canada
(GOC) websites. You can further narrow down you search by selecting
the official language of your choice, or by specifying whether you
are looking for the exact phrase, any of the words you typed, or all
of the words you typed.
To make sure you get the information you want, make sure you provide
the search page with as much data as possible. For example, if you
are looking for information about gliding schools, you could type
gliding into the box, and leave all of the other options alone:
However, if you are looking
for more specific information, you can narrow your search. Perhaps
you were looking for information about gliding schools in Gimli, and
you are an English speaker, you could fill in the form as such:
This
will search only regional web pages that are in English for the entire
phrase "Gimli Gliding School." Remember, the more information
you give to the search page, the more likely you are going to find
what you are looking for.
