Share Joy... Canada Post delivers for the Salvation Army.

Canada Post is once again helping The Salvation Army share holiday Joy with a $25,000 donation that will be used to deliver the spirit of the holidays to Canadians in need. This is the seventh year Canada Post is supporting The Salvation Army’s efforts to meet the needs of individuals and families in our communities. For most Canadians, the holidays are a special time of the year. For some however, the season is only a reminder of what they do not have and what they cannot provide for their families. On behalf of our customers and our employees, Canada Post is proud to send a little holiday Joy to the many people The Salvation Army assist. With this year’s donation, a total of $200,000 has been donated by Canada Post to The Salvation Army over the last seven years. Funds from the partnership have been used where most needed in areas across the country; including the purchase of and delivery of much-needed staples for families in more than 10 remote areas in the Northwest Territories, thousands of blankets for less-fortunate individuals and winter boots and snowsuits for needy children, expanding a Vancouver shelter’s capacity by purchasing mats for use during the winter months, providing educational materials, toys and warm clothing for children at a shelter in Montréal, providing temporary food and shelter to need families when they have to travel to be near a hospitalized family member and the purchase of new beds for a hospice in Calgary.
