 On Call Relief Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier

 Challenge: Canada Post is looking for motivated individuals to deliver mail on our rural and suburban routes. If you are someone who takes pride in serving the community, resides within 50 km's of the Milton Postal Installation, this position may be for you!

Duties: The position requires walking, lifting, carrying and driving in all types of weather conditions. The Rural and Suburban mail carrier relief employee is responsible to:

  • Sort, collect and deliver mail items weighing up to 30 kgs (66 lbs) within a specified route.
  • Safely handle and account for financial transactions.
  • Project a positive and courteous manner when dealing with customers face-to-face.

Hours of work: On-call as required. There is no guarantee of hours.

Salary & Vehicle Allowance: (varies according to the route being covered). The employee will be responsible for providing and maintaining the vehicle.

 Experience: Open to: Person employed or residing within 50 km radius of Georgetown Postal Installation. Applicants must be available for assessment and interview in Toronto. No costs for travel or relocation will be paid or reimbursed.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Have experience in driving and or making deliveries, dealing with the public, processing documents and handling cash transactions.
  • Meet the language requirements.
  • Possess a valid provincial driver's license and have a safe driving record in accordance with the requirements of Canada Post.
  • Provide own appropriate vehicle to perform the work
  • Must demonstrate eligibility to obtain commercial insurance with $1,000,000 liability coverage

 
  
 Other Requirements: Qualified applicants will be required to pass pre-employment tests, an interview and a Criminal Record Name check. No costs for travel or relocation will be paid or reimbursed.
