John J. Ryan
President & Chief Executive Officer
Responsible for the strategic leadership of Farm Credit Canada (FCC), John Ryan joined FCC as President and Chief Executive Officer in 1997. John has been instrumental in creating a high-performance culture at FCC. The corporation's customer loyalty and market share has increased significantly during his tenure. John is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University. Prior to joining FCC, John was Chief Operating Officer at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC).

Deeply committed to community involvement, John currently serves on the Board of Directors for Regina's Adult Learning Centre and the Hospitals of Regina Foundation. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Canadian Athletic Foundation and was a member of the Board of Directors for the 2005 Canada Summer Games. John has served as past Chairman for several Regina United Way campaigns and led the CEO Challenge for Habitat for Humanity in 1998 and 2001. In 2002, Mr. Ryan was awarded a Commemorative Medal for the Queen's Golden Jubilee, in recognition of his significant contributions to the people of Canada. In 2004, Mr. Ryan received the Excel Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). This international award recognizes a CEO who champions effective communication throughout his or her organization.

Moyez Somani, CMA, MBA, FCMA
EVP & Chief Financial Officer

Moyez provides leadership to FCC's financial function and has direct responsibility for the Credit Risk, Treasury, Controller, Portfolio Management and Audit and Integrated Risk divisions. He is also actively involved in the local community serving on the Executive of the Provincial Council for CMA Saskatchewan as Second Vice-President and Secretary as well as Chair of the Audit Committee. He is an Investment Committee member for the AgriFood Equity Fund and a member of Financial Executives International as well as the National Council of Financial Executives. In 2004, Moyez was named a Fellow of The Society of Management Accountants of Canada (FCMA), a national honorary designation and the highest honor bestowed by the society to its members. Moyez brings over 20 years of senior management experience in the financial service sector to FCC.

Greg Stewart, P.Ag.
EVP, Operations
In his 19 years with Farm Credit Canada (FCC), Greg has gained extensive experience in operations and risk management. Since 2002, Greg has been responsible for the overall management of Farm Credit Canada’s national operations, including sales and marketing. During this period the company’s portfolio has nearly doubled to $12 billion and FCC has enhanced its customer service and evolved its sales focus.

A professional agrologist, Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba. He is a member of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Greg volunteers as a member of the foundation board for the Adult Learning Centre and the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity.

Dan Bergen, P.Ag.
VP, Operations - Ontario West

Responsible for overall management of operations in Western Ontario, Dan has worked with FCC for more than 30 years. He has held various positions throughout the organization including Account Manager, District Manager, General Manager of Agriland and VP, Operations - Prairie. Dan is a Professional Agrologist and holds a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Lyndon Carlson, P.Ag.
VP, Market & Product Development
Responsible for marketing, customer relationship management, enterprise & market research, product development, AgriAssurances (insurance), AgriSuccess (knowledge and training) and AgExpert (agriculture software solutions). Lyndon has over 20 years of experience in several areas of agribusiness. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan.
Alain Gagnon, P.Ag., MBA
VP, Operations - Quebec
Joining FCC in 2000 as a District Manager, Alain is now responsible for the overall management of operations in Quebec. He has almost 20 years of experience in agri-food and agriculture sector lending and is a member of the Order of Agrologists of Quebec. Alain holds an MBA from the University of Quebec at Montreal and an Agriculture degree from Laval University.
Kellie Garrett, ABC, MA (Leadership)
Senior VP, Strategy, Knowledge & Reputation
Responsible for corporate strategy and priorities management, knowledge management, corporate communication and brand, Kellie is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) with a BA from Carleton University and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University. Kellie is passionate about voluntarism and serves on several boards. She is Vice-Chair of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Research Foundation and a Board Director of Regina Palliative Care Inc. and the Hospitals of Regina Foundation. A regular speaker on topics ranging from leadership and strategy to personal brand, Kellie also counsels parents who receive autism diagnoses.
Rick Hoffman
VP, Portfolio Management
Rick is responsible for corporate credit policy, analysis and monitoring of the loan portfolio, and FCC's loan administration centres. He has 20 years of financial and management experience in the agriculture sector. Rick joined FCC in 2000 as the VP & Controller before moving into this position. He is a Certified Management Accountant and a member of Financial Executives International. Rick serves as a member of the Accreditation Committee for the Society of Management Accountants and volunteers in various capacities in community sports programs.
Michael Hoffort, P.Ag.
VP, Partners and Channels
Leading the development and management of FCC's strategic partnerships and business channels, Michael is responsible for Alliances East and West, the FCC Customer Service Centre and e-Business. Beginning his FCC career as an Account Manager in 1988, Michael previously served as Director of FCC’s Customer Service Centre, Manager of Business Process Reengineering, and held several other posts within the corporation.  Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is a professional agrologist.
Greg Honey
Senior VP, Human Resources
Responsible for all aspects of HR and national administration services, Greg possesses more than 20 years of human resources experience. He oversees Human resources and Administration policies and direction for the 1,200 FCC employees across Canada. He is a member of the Conference Board Human Resources Executive Committee (West), the Human Resource Management Association and has been involved with the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute and the Canadian Human Resource Planners throughout his career. Greg has a B.Ed. from the University of Regina.
Rémi Lemoine, MBA, FCI
VP, Credit Risk
Responsible for the Credit Risk division, Rémi has over 10 years of experience at FCC. Since joining FCC, Rémi has held various management positions in the areas of operations, customer service and alliances. Rémi holds a BBA and an MBA from the University of New Brunswick and attended the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Directed Studies in Agricultural Economics. Rémi is active in local community and sport organizations.
Paul MacDonald
Senior VP & Chief Information Officer
Paul MacDonald, a member of FCC's Executive Committee, is responsible for Information Technology and Enterprise Architecture at FCC. Since assuming responsibility for the Information Technology function in 2004, Paul has led the transformation of FCC's IT organization through the introduction of a wide range of new enabling information technologies, services and processes to innovate how FCC delivers services and products to its customers. Today, FCC is at the leading edge of IT best practices.

Paul has been with FCC since 2001 and has held prior senior management roles in operations, most recently as VP, Alliances and Business Services. He has an M.A. (Economics) from Queen's University and a B.Sc. from the University of P.E.I. Before joining FCC, Paul held the position of Vice-President at Ipsos-Reid, one of Canada's leading market research firms. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Regina and is the Chair of the Board's Resource Development Committee.

Sophie MacDonald
VP, Enterprise Integration and Innovation
Sophie is responsible for the design and governance of customer experience standards to ensure the delivery of a superior customer experience. She is leading the redesign of enterprise-wide customer facing processes to optimize integration of processes, roles and content across all delivery channels. To support this endeavour, she is accountable to provide the organization with the tools and methods to support best practices in process management, content management, continuous improvement and innovative thinking. Sophie has over twelve years experience at FCC and has previously held management positions at FCC in the areas of Information Technology, Lending Operations, Risk Management and Field Communications. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics degree from Laval University.
Larry Martina
VP, Operations - West
Larry is responsible for the overall management of operations in Alberta and British Columbia. He has held various positions throughout FCC since 1977, including Account Manager, District Manager and Manager, Business Process Reengineering.  Larry is active in local community associations including hockey and fastball.
Faith Matchett
VP, Operations - Atlantic and Ontario East

Responsible for the overall operations in the Atlantic and Eastern Ontario regions, Faith joined FCC in 1999 and was most recently a District Manager in London, Ontario. Previous to FCC, she held accounting and controller positions in the construction, mining, printing and agriculture sectors. A Certified Management Accountant, Faith holds a business degree from the University of New Brunswick and has been very involved with the Girl Guides.
Clem Samson
VP, Operations - Prairie
As VP, Prairie Operations, Clem is responsible for overall management of operations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Clem received his post-secondary education in the areas of Business Administration and Finance from the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina and brings 17 years of experience with a chartered bank. Since joining FCC in 1999, Clem has held various positions in credit risk and district management before assuming his current position on April 1, 2005. Clem is very involved with the 4-H movement and is presently a member of the "4-H Foundation of Alberta Legacy Fund Committee".
Christine Short
Vice-President & Controller

Responsible for leading the portfolio accounting, corporate accounting, corporate procurement, financial management and enterprise reporting functions, Christine is a Certified Management Accountant with over 20 years of financial and management experience, primarily in the agriculture sector. Since joining FCC in 2003, she has held various management positions in the Controller Division before assuming her current position on an acting basis in April, 2006.
Don Stevens, CFA, CMA, MBA, P.Eng.
VP and Treasurer
Responsible for funding FCC's portfolio, asset/liability management, corporate cash management, and market risk management, Don has a background in engineering, finance and treasury.  Previously, Don served as VP, Information Technology and VP & Controller.  A Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Management Accountant, he holds an MBA from York University, a B. Engineering from Carleton University and is a professional engineer.
Ross Topp, CA
VP, Audit & Integrated Risk

Responsible for internal audit and integrated risk, Ross has been with FCC for a number of years. He has held various management positions in areas including e-business, business services, business process reengineering, innovation, financial management and corporate reporting, and portfolio accounting. Ross has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Chartered Accountant.
