Group Tours

Rideau Hall invites groups of ten or more to enjoy a tour of the residence, an art tour, a grounds tour or a gardens tour with your own guide.

Residence Tour Hours

• Year-round (except July 1 to September 4): 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., every day by reservation only
• July 1 to September 4: Daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., self-guided tour (open house), no reservation required

Tours are offered on statutory holidays from May to October. No tours on Remembrance Day, Holiday Season and Easter Weekend. Please note that Rideau Hall is a working residence and offical events may require unforeseen changes to your visit.

  • Bus drop-off on Thomas Street (facing the Visitor Centre).
  • Parking the Canada Aviation Museum at Rockcliffe Park (seasonal)

New Bus Lay-by at Rideau Hall

A new bus lay-by area will be designated to ensure visitor safety and provide a better experience to all visitors. Beginning May 29 2006, tour buses will be able to drop off visitors in this new lay-by area adjacent to the site on Princess Avenue, next to the main Sussex Gate.

Art Tour Hours

Specialized art tours can be arranged all year-round. Please call now to make your reservation.

Gardens Tour Hours

• July and August, by reservation only

Grounds Tour Hours

The grounds are open daily from 8 a.m. until one hour before sunset.
We have two ways for you to discover Rideau Hall's grounds:

• Take a guided tour with one of our knowledgeable guides, from September to June, daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Or use our informative self-guided tour brochure available at the entrance of the grounds, follow the interpretive panels and explore at your leisure.

Rideau Hall is a working residence and official events may require unforeseen changes to your visit.
