Salome Bey invested as Honorary Member of the Order of CanadaOctober 26, 2006 OTTAWA–Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, presented the insignia of Honorary Member of the Order of Canada to Mrs. Salome Bey during a private ceremony held in Toronto, Ontario, earlier today. Mrs. Bey was appointed on November 17, 2005. The following text is the official citation for Mrs. Bey: Salome Bey, C.M. Over the past four decades, Salome Bey has displayed a multiplicity of talents that reveal the true depth of her artistry. As a singer, actress and songwriter, she has made an impact on Canada’s music scene that will resonate for generations to come. Her unique style and distinctive voice are her hallmarks.
