A little bit of history...

• On December 21, 1867, Parliament created the Canadian Post Office as a federal government department.
  
  
• On April 14, 1981, the Canada Post Corporation Act passed into law, and as a result on October 16, 1981, the Post Office department became a Crown Corporation.
