Come home to Rideau Hall

Where every Governor General has worked and lived since Confederation in 1867. Where exceptional Canadians are honoured. Where world leaders and visitors from around the globe are welcomed. Where people from across Canada are at home.

Rideau Hall awaits you. History and tradition come alive. Yesterday meets today.

Throughout the year, tours of Rideau Hall give you a chance to walk through Canada’s history. Guided tours are free and last 45 minutes, and the grounds are open from 8 a.m. to one hour prior to sunset. If you have a group of ten people or more, we ask that you make a reservation 48 hours in advance by calling (613) 991-4422 or our toll-free number 1 866 842-4422.
