Governor General and Commander in Chief Adrienne Clarkson hands off a football signed by the players of the Grey Cup champions Montreal Alouettes to Commander Gary Hatton of HMCS Montreal as she spends Christmas Eve with Canadian troops deployed in the Gulf. When the CFL team learned that Governor General Clarkson and her husband John Ralston Saul were going to be on the ship named after their city, they thought it would make a great Christmas present for the crew.
